FAQ?
What is FlyApp?
FlyApp is an online auction platform for empty-leg charter flights listed by licensed U.S. Part 135 operators or their authorized brokers. Here users can bid on or purchase flights directly from trusted aviation providers.
Is FlyApp a charter operator or a broker?
Actually neither—FlyApp is a neutral online marketplace. We do not own or operate aircrafts, and we are not a travel agency or broker. FlyApp simply provides a transparent connection between buyers and operators through our innovative platform.
What exactly is an empty-leg flight?
An empty-leg is the result of aircraft repositioning—when a flight is scheduled to depart for a connection, they can often go empty. These flights are commonly offered at a discount because the aircraft must depart, with or without passengers on board.
BUYERS
How do I place a bid or purchase a flight?
Once your profile is complete, you can place bids on live auctions or click 'Buy Now' if available. If your bid meets or exceeds the reserve price, and you are not outbid by other users, you win the auction!
Are there any hidden fees?
None. The price shown at auction includes all platform fees. What you see is what you pay, no surprises.
How can I pay?
We accept payment via credit card or wire transfer. Unfortunately, FlyApp cannot absorb credit card or processing fees—as these are detailed at checkout based on your selected payment method.
Can a flight be canceled after I pay?
Although rare, yes. Operators may cancel flights for operational or scheduling reasons. Upon cancellation, users will receive a full refund from FlyApp within 1 to 3 business days.
Can I leave reviews?
Yes! Users can rate and review any flight experience or operator after the flight is completed. Such feedback helps ensure quality and accountability.
OPERATORS & BROKERS
How do I list a flight?
After your account is approved, you can enter flight details like aircraft, route, and pricing. You’ll input the price you want to receive, and FlyApp includes platform fees to show the final buyer-facing price.
How does FlyApp make money?
FlyApp earns a percentage-based platform fee that is added to the Operator’s submitted pricing. As Buyers bid up the price, FlyApp’s fee adjusts proportionally. The Operator always receives the full amount they requested.
Can I upload photos of the aircraft?
Yes. Operators are encouraged to upload images and descriptions of their fleet. By doing so, permitting FlyApp to promote listing on the platform and throughout marketing channels.
What if a broker posts a flight on my behalf?
Brokers may post listings if they hold an operator agreement. FlyApp is not involved in this relationship and does not mediate or enforce it.
ACCOUNTS & POLICIES
Who can use FlyApp?
Users must be 18 years of age or older and legally able to enter into a contract agreement. Operators must hold valid FAA Part 135 certificates.
How is my personal information used?
Data is used internally to run the platform and process bookings. We share your info only with Operators or Brokers involved in a given booking. We do not share or sell customer data. Read our Privacy Policy for more.
